JAX Parking Lots and Garages: What Each One Is For
JAX has two garages, a surface lot and three economy lots, and the right one depends on how long you stay and how far you want to walk.
Hourly Garage ($26/day)
The Hourly Garage sits next to the terminal, and the airport calls it the best option for picking up or dropping off family and friends. It reaches its $26 daily maximum after 6.5 hours. Part of it has been closed since a fire in May 2025, so expect fewer spaces; see our JAX parking garage fire update for the latest on repairs and the new garage. Rental cars are returned on the ground floor of the parking garage next to the terminal.
Daily Garage ($22/day)
The Daily Garage is behind the Hourly Garage and is the covered option for longer trips close to the terminal. It reaches the $22 daily maximum after 5.5 hours.
Daily Surface Lot ($16/day)
The Daily Surface Lot is the airport's lowest-cost option within walking distance of the terminal, at $16/day. It reaches the daily maximum after 4 hours.
Economy Lots 1, 2 and 3 ($10/day)
The three Economy Lots are JAX's long-term parking at a flat $10/day, linked to the terminal by a free shuttle that runs 24/7, about every 15 minutes. They are credit card only, with no cash. Our JAX long-term parking guide covers the shuttle, the lots and week-long stays.
Valet ($30 per 24 hours)
Valet is curbside on the Departure Level, and you pick your car up on the Arrivals Level. No reservation is needed, though you can book ahead on the airport's valet site. See our Jacksonville airport valet parking guide.
Height Limits: Which Lots Fit Your Vehicle
Both garages have a 7' height limit, so taller vans and trucks should use the Daily Surface Lot (11' 8") or Economy Lot 2 (10' 6").
- Hourly Garage and Daily Garage: 7'
- Daily Surface Lot: 11' 8"
- Economy Lot 1: 7' 6"
- Economy Lot 2: 10' 6"
- Economy Lot 3: no limit published
Semi-trucks, trailers, RVs, large box trucks and any vehicle that takes up more than one space are not allowed in any Economy area.
JAX Parking Map: How the Lots Are Laid Out
The garages and the Daily Surface Lot surround the terminal approach, while the Economy Lots sit farther out along the airport road.
On the airport's parking map, the Hourly Garage is closest to the terminal, the Daily Garage is directly behind it, and the Daily Surface Lot wraps around behind both. Economy Lots 1 and 2 are farther south along the access road, and Economy Lot 3 is the farthest out. The Courtesy Waiting Lot is next to the JAA Administration Building. Economy shuttles pick up in the Ground Transportation Area on the Lower Arrival curb outside Door A.
Cell Phone Lot on Pecan Park Road and Pick-Up Rules
Drivers meeting a flight should wait in the Courtesy Waiting (Cell Phone) Lot at 14201 Pecan Park Road, next to the JAA Administration Building, about a two-minute drive from the terminal.
From Airport Road, turn left after the JAA building onto Pecan Park Road, then left into the Waiting Lot. It is not an overnight lot: vehicles left overnight are towed at the owner's expense. Other pick-up rules:
- You can stop at the curb only if your passenger is already standing there with their luggage. Drivers cannot wait at the arrivals curb.
- Uber and Lyft pick up at the "App-Based Rides Service" signs on the Lower Arrival Curb at Poles 1 and 2, and drop off on the Upper Departure Curb only.
- The airport says hotel shuttles pick up on the North Upper Level Departure Curb; some hotels give a different spot, so confirm with the driver.
- Arriving passengers exit each concourse into the courtyard, which makes a good meeting point.
How to Pay for Parking at JAX
The garages and Daily Surface Lot take cash and cards, but the Economy Lots are credit card only.
- Hourly Garage, Daily Garage, Daily Surface Lot: cash, Visa, MasterCard, AMEX and Discover.
- Economy Lots 1, 2 and 3: credit card only, no cash.
- Pay on Foot: a machine in Baggage Claim takes cash and cards for every facility. Insert your paid ticket at the exit and the gate opens.
The airport's JAX Passport frequent parker program earns points toward free days, but as of October 2026 the airport says new enrollments are paused while it updates its parking equipment.
Disabled and Disabled Veteran Parking at JAX
Disabled veterans with a qualifying DV plate park free in most JAX lots, but a standard disabled permit does not waive the fee.
- DV plate with the wheelchair symbol: free in the Hourly Garage, Daily Garage, Daily Surface Lot and Economy Lots.
- DV plate without the wheelchair symbol: free in the Daily Garage, Daily Surface Lot and Economy Lots. The Hourly Garage charges posted rates.
- Valet: posted rates for all DV plates.
The plate must be permanently mounted, the veteran must be in the vehicle with ID, and you pull a ticket on entry. Garage and surface lot parkers exit through the far-right lane at the Parking Plaza; Economy parkers use any exit lane and press the help button. Paper or dealer tags do not qualify.
Vehicles with a disabled permit or plate pay posted rates, except vehicles with specialized equipment such as ramps, lifts or hand controls, or a Florida Toll Exemption permit, under Florida Statute 316.1964. Accessible spaces are on every level near the elevators in both garages, near the Daily Garage in the Daily Surface Lot, and near the bus stops in Economy Lots 1 and 2.
Off-Site Parking Near JAX
Two off-site lots near JAX are bookable on Triply, and one came in slightly below the Economy Lots for our sample week.
- Airlynk Parking, 1759 Airport Road, 1.7 miles away: $66.62 for 7 days (about $9.50/day), on-demand shuttle 6 AM to 10 PM.
- Wyndham Jacksonville Hotel & Conference Center (formerly Crowne Plaza), 14670 Duval Rd, 2.6 miles away: $78.13 for 7 days (about $11/day), shuttle every 15 minutes from 4 AM to 2 AM.
Triply prices are for a sample 7-day booking (check-in 10 AM on 13 November, check-out 2 PM on 19 November 2026), include taxes and fees, and change by date.
For the same week, the Economy Lots would be $70 if billed as 7 days, so Airlynk was about $3 less and the Wyndham about $8 more. JAX does not publish how a partial final day is billed; if this stay were charged as 6 days, Economy would be $60, about $7 less than Airlynk. Both off-site bookings give a 100% refund if you cancel up to the day of arrival. Our JAX off-site parking guide compares them in detail, or you can compare JAX parking on Triply.
JAX Parking Tips
- Check lot status before you leave. Check the airport's live parking status before you leave, since lots fill up. The Florida Times-Union reported on 27 May 2026 that the garages and surface lot typically fill during busy travel periods, and the Economy Lots also fill during Thanksgiving week and around Christmas.
- Don't leave a car for more than 45 days. The airport treats vehicles parked over 45 days as abandoned and tows them at the owner's expense.
- Free help is available. The airport offers battery assist, tire inflation and help finding your vehicle in every facility. Use a call box or dial 904-741-2277.
