Which ROC Parking Lot Should You Use?

Use the Hourly Lot for a few hours, the Garage for covered parking next to the terminal, the Weekly Lot for a walkable week away, and the Yellow Lot for the lowest official daily rate.

Hourly Lot (Purple), $24/day

The Hourly Lot is an outdoor lot a short walk from the terminal, meant for stays of less than a few hours. It is also where the airport tells you to park if you want to walk a passenger in or meet them at baggage claim. Height clearance is 12 feet.

Garage (Orange), $16/day

The Garage is the only covered parking at ROC. A skyway on Level 2 takes you straight to the departures level and the security checkpoint, and the garage has elevators and stairs between levels. Clearance is 7 feet, so tall vans and roof boxes may need a surface lot. Our ROC parking garage guide covers reservations, EV charging and the rooftop rate.

Weekly Lot (Green), $12/day or $72/week

The Weekly Lot is an outdoor lot a short walk from the terminal, with no shuttle needed. A full week costs $72, which works out to about $10.30/day. Clearance is 12 feet.

On-Airport Shuttle Lot (Yellow), $8/day

The Yellow Lot is the airport's economy lot. It charges $1 an hour up to $8 per 24 hours, has six EV charging stations in Section E and has a 13 foot 6 inch clearance. When it fills, the Blue overflow lot (turn left at RadioMax) charges the same $8/day. Our long-term parking guide for Rochester airport compares the Yellow, Blue and Green lots for trips of a week or more.

How the ROC Parking Shuttle Works

Shuttle buses run about every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day, between the shuttle lots and the main terminal.

The buses are equipped to help passengers in wheelchairs from the car door to the ticketing lobby. The airport does not publish a written description of the shuttle stop at the terminal, so allow a few extra minutes on your first trip.

Reserving a Space and Paying

You don't need a reservation at ROC, but you can reserve a space in the garage at least 24 hours ahead.

Reserved (premium) spaces are on the second floor of the garage nearest the elevators, marked by purple lights, and you scan a QR code to enter and exit. Reservations are only offered while spaces last, and the price is not published on the parking pages. The other lots are first come, first served.

  • Cards: all major credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Amex).
  • Cash: at the pay-on-foot machines and in Lane 1 at the main exit plaza. When no cashier is on duty, automated credit-card-only lanes are open at the exit plaza.
  • Zoom E-Z: register your NYS E-ZPass with MAPCO and the gates read it on entry and exit, with the charge billed to your card on file.
  • Parking Rewards: free sign-up; you earn 1 point per $1 and every 20 points takes $1 off once you have 200.

The airport does not publish a lost-ticket fee. For lost items in a lot or on a shuttle, call MAPCO at (585) 292-4900.

Free Cell Phone Lot, Pick-Up and Drop-Off

The only free parking at ROC is the Cell Phone Lot, and it is for drivers waiting in their car.

The lot is off Airport Way, to the right as you approach the terminal, marked by feather flags. It has free WiFi, two EV charging stations and a live arrivals screen. Unattended vehicles are ticketed or towed by the Monroe County Sheriff. The airport's pick-up and drop-off guide has the full rules:

  • Drop-off: curbside on the upper level, by ticketing and security.
  • Pick-up: curbside on the lower level. Waiting at the curb is not allowed; your passenger waits by a numbered column and calls you. Allow about 15 to 40 minutes for them to deplane and get bags.
  • Unattended cars on the terminal roadways are ticketed and towed without warning.

Accessible Parking and EV Charging

Every airport-operated lot has accessible spaces for vehicles showing an official plate or permit.

In the garage they sit near the terminal on each level; in the Weekly and Yellow lots they are near the lot entrance. EV charging is in the Garage (one station on Level 1, two on Level 2 for premium parking only), the Yellow Lot (six stations) and the Cell Phone Lot (two). Charging costs are not published.

Off-Site Parking Near ROC

One off-site lot near ROC is bookable on Triply, and it cost less than the Yellow Lot for our sample week.

Motel 6 Rochester Airport, at 1273 Chili Avenue, is 1.3 miles from the terminal. A sample 7-day booking came to $31.60 (about $4.50/day), paid online. Its shuttle runs 24/7 on demand: on your return, collect your bags, call 585-464-8800 or 585-434-2061, then go outside the B doors and cross to the median, allowing 30 to 45 minutes for pick-up. You get a 100% refund if you cancel up to the day of arrival. One thing to know for winter: the lot does not clear snow from around or on your car.

Triply prices are for a sample 7-day booking (check-in 10 AM on 13 November, check-out 2 PM on 19 November 2026), include fees, and change by date.

For the same stay of 6 days and 4 hours, the Yellow Lot would be about $52 (if the last 4 hours are charged by the hour) to $56 (if charged as a seventh day), so the off-site lot was roughly $20 to $24 less. You can compare it on the Rochester airport parking page.

Getting to ROC Without Parking

RTS buses serve ROC throughout the day and stop directly in front of the terminal on the lower level.

Schedules are on the RTS website, at the visitor information booth in baggage claim, or by calling RTS at 585-288-1700. Taxis line up at the starter booth in front of the center entrance on the lower level. Plan to arrive at least 90 minutes before your flight; checkpoints open at 4:30 AM.
