Short-Term Parking: The Hourly Lot

Short-term parking at ROC is the Hourly Lot (Purple), at $2 for the first hour and $1 for each extra half hour.

It is an outdoor lot a short walk from the terminal, and it is the lot the airport suggests if you want to walk a passenger in or meet them at baggage claim. The price caps at $24 per 24 hours, which you reach after 12 hours. The Hourly Lot page has a calculator. For quick pick-ups, the free Cell Phone Lot is cheaper still, as long as you stay with your car.

What Common Trips Cost

Under 2 hours the Hourly Lot is cheaper than the garage, from 2 to 8 hours they cost the same on the hour, and past 8 hours the garage is cheaper; the Yellow shuttle lot is cheapest at every length of stay.

How to Save on ROC Parking

The biggest saving is picking the right lot for your trip length; after that, the airport's rewards program and an off-site lot can bring the price down.

  • Match the lot to the trip. For a day or longer, the Yellow shuttle lot at $8/day costs half the garage and a third of the Hourly Lot.
  • Join Parking Rewards. The MAPCO Parking Rewards program is free. You earn 1 point for every $1 you pay at any airport lot. Once you have 200 points, every 20 points takes $1 off, with no black-out dates, and points don't expire while the program runs.
  • Skip the pay line with Zoom E-Z. A registered NYS E-ZPass opens the gates and bills your card, at no extra parking cost.
  • Use the free Cell Phone Lot for pick-ups instead of the Hourly Lot.

The airport and MAPCO don't publish promo or coupon codes or a prepaid rate for the official lots; the only advance booking they list is a reserved garage space, whose price isn't published.

Off-Site Parking Cost

For our sample week, the one off-site lot on Triply cost less than any official lot.

Motel 6 Rochester Airport, at 1273 Chili Avenue, 1.3 miles from the terminal, came to $31.60 (about $4.50/day), paid online. For the same 6-day, 4-hour stay, the Yellow Lot would be about $52 (last 4 hours charged by the hour) to $56 (charged as a seventh day), so the off-site lot was roughly $20 to $24 less. The free shuttle runs 24/7 on demand, but allow 30 to 45 minutes for pick-up when you return, and note the lot does not clear snow from around or on your car. You get a 100% refund if you cancel up to the day of arrival.

Triply prices are for a sample 7-day booking (check-in 10 AM on 13 November, check-out 2 PM on 19 November 2026), include fees, and change by date.

Paying for Parking

All ROC lots take major credit and debit cards, and cash at the pay-on-foot machines or Lane 1 of the main exit plaza.

When no cashier is on duty, automated credit-card-only lanes are open at the exit plaza. The airport does not publish a lost-ticket fee; for help, call MAPCO at (585) 292-4900.
