As of October 2026, parking at Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) costs $22/day in the Parking Garage, $16/day in the Terminal Blue Lot and $14/day in the Economy Red and Purple Lots, which have a free shuttle every 10 to 12 minutes, 24/7. The lowest price we found is off-site: Candlewood Suites Syracuse Airport, 1.9 miles away, at $52.35 for a sample week (about $7.50/day), with an on-demand shuttle from 4 AM to midnight. You can also reserve the airport's own lots online at least 24 hours ahead.

This guide covers every SYR lot, what each costs, how the shuttle and reservations work, where to wait for arriving passengers, and the construction changes to know before you drive in.

SYR Parking Options at a Glance

SYR has four public parking areas: one garage, one terminal surface lot and two economy lots, all run by the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority.

  • Parking Garage: directly connected to the terminal, a 1 to 2 minute walk. A mix of covered and uncovered spaces (the roof is open). 6 ft 10 in clearance.
  • Terminal Parking, Blue Lot: an uncovered lot with over 1,200 spaces, a 2 to 4 minute walk. Takes oversized vehicles.
  • Economy Parking, Red Lot: on Air Cargo Road, about 1/8 mile from the terminal. Free 24/7 shuttle, or an 8 to 10 minute walk.
  • Economy Parking, Purple Lot: on Air Cargo Road, about 1/2 mile out. Shuttle only, with no walking path to the terminal.

Short trips and pick-ups suit the garage. For trips of several days, the Economy lots are the cheapest official choice; our guide to long-term parking at Syracuse airport compares the Red and Purple Lots and the shuttle in detail.

Payment is by credit or debit card, mobile pay, tap-to-pay or QR code. Cash is not accepted.

Triply prices are for a sample 7-day booking (check-in 10 AM on 13 November, check-out 2 PM on 19 November 2026), include taxes and fees, and change by date. SYR doesn't say how the last partial day is billed, so airport totals show six and seven daily charges. Either way, the hotel lot came to about $32 to $46 less for this trip.

What you trade for the lower price: the Economy shuttle runs around the clock every 10 to 12 minutes, while the hotel's on-demand shuttle runs from 4 AM to midnight only, with no service from midnight to 4 AM. On your return you call the hotel for pickup. If your flight leaves or lands in the middle of the night, Economy is the simpler choice.

Our Syracuse airport hotel park and fly guide covers how the Candlewood Suites lot works, step by step. You can also see every lot we sell on the Syracuse airport parking booking page.

The Economy Lot Shuttle

Free, ADA-compliant shuttles run about every 10 to 12 minutes, 24 hours a day, between the Economy Red and Purple Lots and the terminal.

The airport announced in 2025 that the shuttle stops at the Arrivals A bus lane near Door 1 on the south arrivals curb. The Red Lot is close enough to walk (8 to 10 minutes) if you'd rather not wait. The Purple Lot is shuttle only.

Reserving SYR Parking in Advance

Yes, you can reserve the Garage, the Open Lot or the Economy Lot through the airport's SYR parking reservation system, but you must book at least 24 hours ahead.

  • A reservation guarantees a space in the area you booked, not a specific space, and only works at that area's gates.
  • The airport charges a $2.99 booking fee that isn't refunded. Reservation prices are dynamic, based on demand.
  • You can cancel up to 3 hours before your start time. The airport is inconsistent on changes: its reservation rules say dates and lot can be changed only up to 24 hours ahead, while its FAQ says you can modify up to 3 hours before. Plan on 24 hours to be safe.
  • Scan the QR code from your confirmation email at entry and exit. Screenshots and paper copies don't work, and pulling a ticket voids the reservation.
  • If a lot shows "Temporarily Full", reservation holders can still enter. If you stay longer, you pay the difference at the exit; leaving early earns no refund.

Without a reservation, you pull a ticket at any open entrance and pay by card when you leave, subject to space.

Picking Up and Dropping Off at SYR

All pick-ups happen at the Arrivals A South Loop, and the free Cell Phone Lot is where you wait until your passenger is outside.

The SYR cell phone lot is on Col. Eileen Collins Blvd: watch for a pull-off on the right as you enter the airport, after Million Air and Mohawk Global but before the traffic light. You must stay with your car; unattended vehicles can be ticketed or towed. Arrivals A is an active pick-up area only, with No Standing enforced. Drop-offs use the front curb, again for active drop-off only.

Uber, Lyft and taxis pick up at the Arrivals A curb outside Baggage Claim A. If you want to walk in to meet someone, the garage's hourly rate starts at $10 for up to an hour.

Construction and Lot Changes in 2026

The Overflow Parking Lot on the north side of the garage and the Arrivals B loop are closed while the airport builds a new Consolidated Rental Car Facility, a project of about 14 months that started in March 2026.

To keep capacity, the airport added a parking area on Air Cargo Road served by the airport shuttle. When the rental car facility opens, 450 covered garage spaces now used by rental car companies will go back to public parking.

Accessible, Oversized and Special Parking

ADA spaces are in every lot and on Levels 2 and 3 and the roof of the garage, and the Economy shuttles are ADA-compliant.

  • Height: the garage clears 6 ft 10 in. The airport says taller vehicles should use the Open Lot or Economy Parking, and that lifted trucks may park in the Open Lot. The Blue Lot is listed as taking oversized vehicles.
  • RVs and trailers: park in an Economy lot and pay for each space used. Call the Parking Office first.
  • Help to the terminal: ask an Airport Security Officer or call the Airport Communications Center, 24/7, at 315-455-3698.
  • Not offered: valet parking, EV charging, discounts (including military) and a frequent-parker program.
  • Extras: parking areas are monitored 24/7 by security and airport police, and the Parking Office offers free jump starts when staff are available.

Getting to SYR Without Parking

Centro's SY84 Mattydale bus route stops at the airport on weekdays from 5:00 am to 7:30 pm, with limited weekend service.

The bus stops in the Arrivals A area next to the Terminal A baggage claim. Check the GoCentroBus app for times and fares. By car, SYR is north of downtown Syracuse with direct access from I-81 at exit 27.

SYR Parking Office Contacts

Call the Parking Office at 315-455-3550 for help with a reservation, finding your car or a pass that won't scan.

For stays over 30 days, call 315-454-5690 ext. 4 before you park. The airport's main line is 315-454-3263.
