Economy Red Lot vs Purple Lot

Both cost $14/day and share the same shuttle; the difference is distance.

  • Red Lot: on Air Cargo Road, about 1/8 mile from the terminal. You can ride the shuttle or walk, which takes 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Purple Lot: on Air Cargo Road, about 1/2 mile out. It's shuttle only, with no dedicated walking path to the terminal.

Both lots are uncovered and can take oversized vehicles and vehicles with trailers. RVs and trailers pay for each space used; call the Parking Office before you go.

The Economy Parking Shuttle

Free shuttles run about every 10 to 12 minutes, 24 hours a day, between both Economy lots and the terminal.

The shuttles are ADA-compliant. When the service launched in 2025, the airport said it stops at the Arrivals A bus lane near Door 1 on the south arrivals curb. Coming home, head out to Arrivals A and wait for the next bus.

Is the Blue Lot Good for Long-Term Parking?

Yes, if you'd rather walk than ride a shuttle: the Blue Lot costs $16/day, $2 more than Economy, and is a 2 to 4 minute walk from the terminal.

It's an uncovered lot with over 1,200 spaces for both short and long stays, and the airport says it can accommodate oversized vehicles. Over a week, the extra $2 a day adds about $14.

Off-Site Long-Term Parking

For our sample week, the Candlewood Suites Syracuse Airport lot cost $52.35, about $32 to $46 less than the $84 to $98 you'd pay in Economy for the same dates.

Triply prices are for a sample 7-day booking (check-in 10 AM on 13 November, check-out 2 PM on 19 November 2026), include taxes and fees, and change by date. The hotel is at 5414 South Bay Road, 1.9 miles from SYR, with a 24/7 front desk. Its on-demand shuttle runs from 4 AM to midnight; there is no shuttle from midnight to 4 AM, and you call 315-454-8999 for your return pickup. If you land late at night, Economy's 24/7 shuttle is the safer bet. Our Syracuse park and fly hotel guide has the full step-by-step.

Reserving a Long-Term Space

You can reserve the Economy Lot, the Open Lot or the garage through the airport parking booking engine at least 24 hours ahead, up to 24 months in advance.

A reservation guarantees a space in that area even when signs say "Temporarily Full". The airport adds a $2.99 nonrefundable booking fee and uses demand-based pricing. You can cancel up to 3 hours before your start time (for changes, the airport's rules say 24 hours ahead and its FAQ says 3 hours, so allow 24), but there's no refund for leaving early.

Stays Longer Than 30 Days

For stays over 30 days, call the Parking Office first at 315-454-5690 ext. 4.

If you park for months at a time, the public monthly pass costs $325/month with a 6-month commitment.

Long-Term Parking Tips

  • Parking areas are monitored 24/7 by on-site security and airport police.
  • If your battery is flat when you return, the Parking Office offers free jump starts when staff are available; expect waits during snowstorms.
  • The Overflow Lot next to the garage is closed during rental car facility construction (about 14 months from March 2026), so plan on Economy when the garage and Blue Lot are busy.
  • The airport says EV charging is not available at this time.
