Parking in a DFW Terminal garage costs $40 a day if you pay by credit card at the exit, or $37 with a TollTag, and the Remote lot is $16 a day by card, as of October 2026. On Triply, the cheapest lot for the Christmas trip (Wed Dec 23 to Mon Dec 28, 2026) is Clarion Inn & Suites North at $6.59 per day all-in with a shuttle that runs 24/7 every 40 minutes, and for the New Year trip (Wed Dec 30, 2026 to Sun Jan 3, 2027) the same lot is $7.11 per day all-in. Book Christmas parking by Friday Dec 11 and New Year parking by Friday Dec 18. In 2025, TSA's heaviest days ran from Friday Dec 19 through Monday Dec 29, with Sunday Dec 28 the single busiest; plan around the same shape for 2026.
Triply prices in this guide are for the two sample trips shown (Dec 23 at 10:00 AM to Dec 28 at 2:00 PM, five nights; Dec 30 at 10:00 AM to Jan 3 at 2:00 PM, four nights), include all taxes and fees, and change by date. Live prices are on the DFW booking page.
DFW parking options for Christmas and New Year
DFW runs four kinds of paid parking: Terminal garages, Express lots (covered and uncovered) with a shuttle, the Remote lot with a non-stop bus to every terminal, and Valet. Rates on the official DFW Terminal parking page are effective October 1, 2026, and every facility quotes a TollTag rate and a higher credit-card-at-exit rate. DFW sells prebooked parking through its own site and app but publishes no dollar prebook prices.
The three off-site lots on Triply against the airport's own facilities, per day:
| Facility | Christmas trip per day (Dec 23–28) | New Year trip per day (Dec 30–Jan 3) | Shuttle / walk | Bookable on Triply? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Clarion Inn & Suites North (Irving, 1.8 mi) | $6.59 | $7.11 | 24/7, every 40 minutes; pickups on demand | Yes |
| Red Roof Inn (Irving, 2.3 mi) | $7.18 | $7.72 | 3:30 AM to 1:00 AM daily, every 40 minutes; no shuttle 1:00 to 3:30 AM | Yes |
| The Westin Dallas-Fort Worth (Irving, 2.2 mi) | $13.15 | $13.94 | 24 hours, every hour on the hour; pickups on demand | Yes, 3-day minimum |
| DFW Remote | $16 card, $14 TollTag | $16 card, $14 TollTag | Non-stop bus to every terminal | No, reserve on the airport's page or pay at the airport |
| DFW Express (uncovered; covered $25 / $23) | $22 card, $20 TollTag | $22 card, $20 TollTag | Shuttle, 4 to 5 minute ride | No, reserve on the airport's page or pay at the airport |
| DFW Terminal garage | $40 card, $37 TollTag | $40 card, $37 TollTag | Walk to terminal | No, reserve on the airport's page or pay at the airport |
| DFW Valet | $55 | $55 | Valet service | No, reserve on the airport's page |
Official figures are the airport's posted 6-to-24-hour daily rates as of October 2026. Every Triply lot in the table is cheaper than the Remote lot at either rate: Clarion at $6.59 is well under half the $16 Remote card rate, and even the Westin at $13.15 undercuts it. Against the $40 Terminal garage, the five-night Christmas stay is $32.95 all-in at Clarion versus $200 in the garage. The Westin requires a minimum of 3 days; both sample trips clear it, but a two-night New Year's Eve hop would not.
Christmas week timeline at DFW
Christmas Day is Friday Dec 25, 2026. The week around it has two peaks with a quiet stretch between.
Saturday Dec 19 to Wednesday Dec 23: outbound peak. In 2025, TSA named Dec 19, 20 and 21 among its heaviest days nationally and projected 44.3 million travelers between Friday Dec 19 and Sunday Jan 4 (TSA, Dec 22, 2025). Expect the same pattern for 2026: the weekend before Christmas week is full, and Wednesday Dec 23, the start of the sample trip, is the last big departure day. Arrive at your lot earlier than usual, because every shuttle run will be fuller.
Thursday Dec 24 and Friday Dec 25: quiet. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are typically the calm days. Flights run, roads are lighter, and shuttles have room.
Saturday Dec 26 to Monday Dec 28: return peak. In 2025, TSA expected its heaviest single day to be "about 2.86 million on Sunday, Dec 28," with Dec 27 also in the top group. Sunday Dec 27, 2026 and Monday Dec 28 sit in the same slot: plan for a longer wait at on-demand shuttle pickups.
Airport advisories. As of October 2026, DFW's parking pages carry no Christmas or New Year notice and no "lots may fill" warning. The only standing notice is construction: the south section of the Terminal C garage has been closed since September 2024, with the central and north sections open. The airport's prebook form suggests a parking start time of at least three hours before departure. TSA's travel tips say only to allow "plenty of time" and to check your airline's cutoffs (TSA travel tips).
New Year timeline at DFW
New Year's Day is Friday Jan 1, 2027.
Wednesday Dec 30 and Thursday Dec 31: outbound. The 2025 TSA release named Dec 29 among its heavy days, so the days just before New Year's Eve carry real volume. The sample New Year trip starts on Wednesday Dec 30 at 10:00 AM. Thursday Dec 31 is typically lighter.
Friday Jan 1: quiet. New Year's Day is typically a light travel day, with short shuttle waits.
Saturday Jan 2 and Sunday Jan 3: return. The last weekend of the holidays is the second return peak, and the sample trip ends Sunday Jan 3 at 2:00 PM. Expect airport roads and the on-demand pickup curbs to be busiest on Sunday afternoon and evening.
Shuttle hours on Christmas Day and New Year's Day
Each lot's listing on Triply states its shuttle schedule. Here is what those listings say, and how much cushion to add.
- Clarion Inn & Suites North runs 24/7, every 40 minutes, departing five minutes past the hour, so it runs on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Pickups from the airport are on demand: call the hotel once you have your bags. With a 40-minute gap between runs, be at the lot at least an hour before you want to be at the terminal.
- Red Roof Inn runs daily from 3:30 AM to 1:00 AM, every 40 minutes starting on the half-hour, and there is no shuttle between 1:00 AM and 3:30 AM. The listing gives daily hours only and does not state separate holiday hours, so confirm with the lot if you fly on Dec 25 or Jan 1. It also says to arrive 30 minutes before you want to leave for the airport, and that return pickups can take 25 to 30 minutes. For a 6:00 AM departure you want the 3:30 AM run, so be checked in by about 3:00 AM.
- The Westin Dallas-Fort Worth runs 24 hours, every hour on the hour, so it covers the holidays, but an hourly schedule is the least forgiving here: miss a run and you wait a full hour. Be at the front desk at least 75 minutes before you want to be at the terminal, and call for pickup as soon as you have your luggage.
All three listings say airlines suggest arriving at the airport two hours before a flight, so arrive at the lot before that window starts. Add the shuttle gap above, and on peak days another 15 to 20 minutes for airport road traffic.
When to book, and what to check before you pay
Book Christmas parking by Friday Dec 11, 2026, and New Year parking by Friday Dec 18, 2026. The $6.59 and $7.11 per-day Clarion figures are what the sample dates showed on Oct 30, 2026. Later bookings for the same dates can cost more or show fewer lots; our Thanksgiving-week search in October returned a single DFW lot. Booking two weeks ahead locks the price and the shuttle you want.
Minimum stays. The Westin requires 3 days. Clarion has no minimum beyond one day, and Red Roof Inn states none.
Cancellation. Each lot's cancellation terms are shown on its listing before you pay. Read them before you book.
Paying. Triply lots are prepaid, so there is nothing to settle at the exit.
