Thanksgiving Parking at DFW Airport (2026): Terminal vs Remote vs Off-Site, What It Costs
For Thanksgiving week 2026, DFW Terminal parking runs $40 a day paid at exit ($37 with TollTag), Remote is $16, and Valet is $55. The Westin DFW, 2.2 miles out with an hourly 24/7 shuttle, is $13.67 a day all-in on Triply for Nov 25–30. Book by Friday, Nov 20. As of October 2026.

Pick your dates to search
DFW does not publish a Thanksgiving parking advisory, so the honest answer is this: the Wednesday before Thanksgiving (Nov 25, 2026) and the Sunday after (Nov 29) are the days on-airport lots are most likely to tighten up, and you should have parking locked in by Friday, Nov 20. As of October 2026, Terminal parking at DFW is $40 a day when you pay by card at the exit, or $37 with a TollTag. Remote is $16 a day at exit. Our cheapest option, The Westin Dallas-Fort Worth, is $13.67 a day all-in for Nov 25–30 on Triply.
One thing to say up front: Triply sells exactly one lot at DFW for these dates. That is the Westin. Everything else in this guide is DFW's own parking, which you pay for at the airport or prebook on DFW's site. We compare them straight.
DFW parking rates for Thanksgiving week 2026
Triply prices below are for the sample dates Nov 25–30, 2026 (5 days), include taxes and fees, and change by date. Official DFW rates are the 6-to-24-hour tier posted on dfwairport.com, effective October 1, 2026, as of October 2026.
| Facility | Daily rate | Shuttle / walk | Bookable on Triply? |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Westin Dallas-Fort Worth (2.2 mi, Irving) | $13.67 all-in | Shuttle 24/7, every hour on the hour; pick-ups on demand | Yes |
| DFW Remote | $16 card at exit / $14 TollTag | Non-stop bus to your terminal | No, pay at the airport or prebook on dfwairport.com |
| DFW Express Uncovered | $22 card / $20 TollTag | Shuttle, 4–5 min ride plus wait | No, pay at the airport or prebook on dfwairport.com |
| DFW Express Covered | $25 card / $23 TollTag | Shuttle, 4–5 min ride plus wait | No, pay at the airport or prebook on dfwairport.com |
| DFW Terminal | $40 card / $37 TollTag | Terminal garage | No, pay at the airport or prebook on dfwairport.com |
| DFW Valet | $55 | Valet at the terminal | No, reserve on dfwairport.com |
| DFW Cell Phone Lots | Free, 2-hour limit | Pickups only, no parking for travelers | No |
The Westin at $13.67 a day is cheaper than DFW Remote at the card rate and below Remote's TollTag rate too. Against the Terminal garage it is about $26 a day less, which on a 5-day Thanksgiving trip is roughly $130. The trade is a hotel shuttle on an hourly schedule rather than a garage you can walk from.
DFW says you can "Save up to 50% off TollTag rates when you prebook" on its own site or app, with no booking, change or cancellation fees. DFW does not publish the prebook dollar figures on its rate pages, so the only way to see the actual Thanksgiving prebook price is to run the dates on dfwairport.com. Check it before you decide; the gap to the Westin will be narrower than the drive-up rates suggest.

Thanksgiving week 2026 at DFW: the timeline
Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, Nov 26, 2026. The heavy days follow the usual holiday shape; DFW has not posted a 2026 advisory, so treat these as the general pattern rather than an airport forecast.
- Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov 24–25. Peak outbound. If you are flying out Wednesday, this is the day Terminal garages are most likely to be tight and Remote shuttle queues longest. Leave the house earlier than you think.
- Thursday, Nov 26. Thanksgiving Day itself is usually the quietest travel day of the week at most airports. If your schedule allows a Thursday morning departure, parking and security are both easier.
- Friday and Saturday, Nov 27–28. Moderate. Outbound traffic for the weekend portion of the holiday, some early returns.
- Sunday, Nov 29 and Monday, Nov 30. Peak return. Parking is less of an issue on the way home since you already have a spot, but allow extra time for shuttles if you are in Remote or an off-site lot, since everyone is leaving at once.
TSA's standing advice is that travelers "should give themselves plenty of time for all steps of their journey," including parking, bag drop and screening. The commonly cited window is two hours before a domestic departure and three before international; TSA does not publish a fixed number, so treat that as a rule of thumb. Read TSA travel tips before you go.
Shuttle timing: how early to get to the lot
If you park at the Westin, the shuttle runs 24/7 on the hour, with on-demand pick-ups on the return. Plan around the hour. Arriving at 5:50 for a 6:00 shuttle is fine; arriving at 6:05 means a wait. Allow 10–15 minutes for the 2.2-mile ride to your terminal on a normal day and 20–25 on Wednesday, Nov 25, when the terminal roadways back up.
Counting backwards for a Wednesday departure at 10:00 a.m. with checked bags:
- Be at the gate by 9:30.
- Clear security starting no later than 8:00 (two hours before, the rule-of-thumb window).
- Be dropped at the terminal by 7:45.
- Catch the 7:00 shuttle from the Westin, so be parked and at the shuttle stop by 6:50.
That puts you pulling into the Westin around 6:40 for a 10:00 flight. It sounds early. On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving it is about right.
For DFW Remote, the airport describes "non-stop bus service to your terminal" but does not publish a frequency. Budget 15–20 minutes for the wait plus ride on a normal day, more on peak days. Express is a 4–5 minute ride excluding the wait. Terminal garages need no shuttle at all, which is the main thing you pay the extra $26 a day for.
When to book, and what happens if plans change
Book by Friday, Nov 20, 2026. That gives you a full weekend of buffer before Thanksgiving week starts, and it is well ahead of the point where last-minute travelers start searching. Prices on Triply are set by the lot and change by date, so the $13.67 a day shown here is for Nov 25–30 and may differ for your exact dates. Run your own dates on the DFW booking page to see the live number.
On cancellation: the Westin listing on Triply shows a 100% refund cancellation policy. Confirm the cutoff time shown on the booking page before you pay, because that is the term that applies to your reservation.
For DFW's own lots, the airport says prebooking carries no booking, change or cancellation fees. If you want a Terminal garage spot specifically for Thanksgiving, prebooking it on dfwairport.com is the only way to hold one in advance; drive-up is first come, first served.
A practical approach for Thanksgiving week: book the Westin on Triply now for the price certainty, then check DFW's prebook price for your dates. If DFW's prebook comes in lower for the facility you want, you can decide then. Either way you are not scrambling for a spot on Nov 25.
