FAT Parking at a Glance

FAT has four paid parking areas and one free waiting area, numbered 1 to 5 on the airport's parking map.

  • Parking Garage (1): 4 levels, 900+ covered spaces, $17 a day, in front of the terminal entrances.
  • Lot 2: open lot across from the terminal, $17 a day, cash or card.
  • Lot 3: open lot beside the terminal, $17 a day, card only, with fewer spaces right now because of construction.
  • Economy Lot (4): $12 a day, card only, near Peach Avenue and McKinley Avenue.
  • Cell Phone Waiting Area (5): free, up to 60 minutes, for pickups.

The garage and every lot are on airport property, as shown on the airport's parking map. For more depth, see the guides to Fresno airport parking cost, the Fresno airport parking garage, Fresno airport economy parking and Fresno airport parking at a hotel.

There is a 5-minute grace period in all lots. The airport does not publish weekly rates, so a week is 7 daily charges: $119 in the garage or $84 in Economy.

The airport also lists a per-transaction service fee: $0.99 for up to 1 hour, $1.80 for 1 to 4 hours and $2.80 for over 4 hours, with a note that credit card transactions are subject to standard service fees. Taxes are not listed. Source: the official FAT parking page.

Where to Park at FAT

Park in the garage or Lot 2 for the shortest walk, and in the Economy Lot to pay $5 a day less.

Parking Garage

The 4-level garage was built as the first part of the airport's FATforward expansion and sits in front of the terminal entrances with crosswalk access. It has 900+ covered spaces, park-assist lights to find an open space, ADA parking and pay stations on Level 1, and EV charging on Levels 1 to 3. The airport does not publish a height clearance. See the garage guide for details.

Lots 2 and 3

Lot 2 takes cash or card and has EV charging and ADA spaces. Lot 3 is card only, has ADA spaces, and the airport currently notes a reduced number of spaces due to construction. Both charge the same $17 a day as the garage.

Economy Lot

The Economy Lot is the cheapest on-airport option at $12 a day, card only and first come, first served. The airport does not list a shuttle for it. Read the economy parking guide before a long trip.

Parking Map

The airport's parking map numbers each area 1 to 5.

The garage (1) and Lot 2 sit directly across the terminal roadway, Lot 3 is beside the terminal, and the Economy Lot (4) and Cell Phone Waiting Area (5) sit together near Peach Avenue and McKinley Avenue, past the employee lot. You can view and print the map from the airport's parking page. The map file dates from 2024, so follow on-site signs if anything has changed.

How Ticketless Parking Works at FAT

Since July 2026, FAT parking is ticketless: cameras read your license plate on the way in and out, and you pay as you leave.

  1. Drive in. No ticket is issued.
  2. Register once with the airport's parking operator, Metropolis, at app.metropolis.io, in its app, or by scanning a QR code on signs in the lot. You need your license plate, phone number and a credit or debit card.
  3. Drive out. The gate reads your plate, opens, charges your card and texts a receipt.

Registration is not required. You can use Text-to-Pay at the exit instead, or use the lane marked for cash in the garage or Lot 2, where staff are on hand. The airport accepts cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover, but Lot 3 and the Economy Lot are credit card only. When you add a card, Metropolis places a temporary pre-authorization that can take several business days to drop off. If you pulled a ticket, keep it and exit through a staffed lane. The airport still lists a lost-ticket minimum of $17 ($12 in Economy).

FAT Parking Phone Number

For parking questions, or to park longer than 30 days, call Metropolis at 559-252-0052, the number on the airport's parking page.

Cell Phone Lot, Pick-Up and Drop-Off

The Cell Phone Waiting Area is free for up to 60 minutes, and you must stay with your car.

Waiting at the curb is not allowed, so wait in the cell phone area until your traveler is outside. Uber and Lyft pick up and drop off outside the departure doors in Zone B. Fresno Area Express (FAX), V-Line and Fresno County Rural Transit stop at the center median of the Departures curb. Taxis wait at the terminal curb, first come, first served.

Accessible Parking and EV Charging

ADA spaces are in the garage on Level 1 and in Lots 2 and 3, and drivers with a Disabled Person Parking Placard get the first 2 hours free.

After those 2 hours, the normal $4 hourly and $17 daily rates apply. EV charging is on garage Levels 1 to 3 and in Lot 2. The airport describes the garage chargers as free but does not publish how many there are or whether they can be reserved.

Hotel Parking Next to FAT on Triply

If you want a space booked before you leave home, two hotel lots next to the airport are on Triply, at about $14 to $15 a day.

Best Western at 1551 North Peach Avenue, 0.8 miles away, includes a free 24-hour shuttle on demand. Wyndham Garden at 5090 East Clinton Way, 0.5 miles away, has no shuttle but is about a 5-minute walk to the airport entrance. Neither requires a room booking, and both allow full-size vans, pickups and large SUVs at no extra charge. Both offer a full refund if you cancel up to the day of arrival.

Triply prices are for a sample 7-day booking (check-in 13 November, check-out 19 November 2026), include taxes and fees, and change by date. Official totals use the airport's posted daily rates and over-4-hour service fee; taxes on airport parking are not published.

The honest read: both hotel lots cost more than the Economy Lot, about $12 to $15 more for this week, and about $20 to $23 less than the garage. What you get for the difference over Economy is a booked space, which matters because Economy is first come, first served and the airport warns that parking fills quickly at peak times. Compare them in the hotel parking guide or see current prices for FAT parking.

Tips for Parking at FAT

  • Have a backup lot. The airport advises that parking fills quickly during peak periods.
  • Register your plate before you go so you can drive straight out on your return.
  • Bring a card for Lot 3 or Economy. Both are credit card only.
  • Allow extra time at hotel lots. Both hotels suggest arriving at the lot before the airlines' 2-hour pre-flight window.
