What the Garage Offers
The garage is the airport's only covered parking and the closest to the terminal doors.
- 900+ covered spaces that keep your car out of the sun and weather.
- Park-assist technology that shows where open spaces are.
- EV charging on Levels 1 to 3. The airport describes the chargers as free and adds parking for clean-air vehicles, but does not publish the number of chargers.
- ADA parking and pay stations on Level 1.
- Pay-on-foot kiosk and full-color LED signs.
- Solar power.
- Crosswalk access to the terminal entrances.
The airport does not publish a height clearance. If you drive a tall van or have a roof box, check the signs at the entrance, or use a surface lot.
Parking Garage vs Parking Structure: Same Place
Fresno airport has one parking structure, the 4-level garage marked 1 on the airport's map.
It was the first part of FATforward, the airport's expansion program, which broke ground in September 2020. The terminal expansion that followed, with the new Concourse B and international arrivals facility, opened in December 2025. The garage sits across the terminal roadway, beside Lot 2.
Paying for the Garage
The garage is ticketless: cameras read your plate on entry, and you pay as you drive out.
Register your plate, phone and card once with Metropolis, the airport's parking operator, at app.metropolis.io or by scanning a QR code in the garage, and the exit gate charges your card automatically. Without registering, use Text-to-Pay at the exit. The garage also accepts cash in the lane marked for cash. For the full steps, see the FAT airport parking guide.
Garage, Lots 2 and 3, or Economy?
The garage costs the same $17 a day as Lots 2 and 3, so the choice there is cover vs an open-air space; Economy saves $5 a day.
| Facility | Daily | Covered | Payment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Parking Garage | $17 | Yes | Cash or card |
| Lot 2 | $17 | No | Cash or card |
| Lot 3 | $17 | No | Card only |
| Economy Lot | $12 | No | Card only |
Lot 3 currently has fewer spaces because of construction, and Economy is first come, first served. For trips of several days, see Fresno airport economy parking.
Using the Garage for Pick-Ups
For a quick pick-up, the free Cell Phone Waiting Area usually beats the garage, which charges $4 an hour.
The cell phone area is free for up to 60 minutes as long as you stay with your car, and waiting at the curb is not allowed. If you want to meet your traveler inside, the garage and Lot 2 are the closest paid options; in the garage, 2 hours costs $8 plus the $1.80 service fee for 1 to 4 hours. Drivers with a Disabled Person Parking Placard get the first 2 hours free in the garage, and ADA spaces and pay stations are both on Level 1.
Finding Your Car When You Return
The garage's park-assist and Find My Car features help with both ends of the trip.
Park-assist shows open spaces as you drive in, and the airport says its Find My Car feature uses license plate recognition to help locate your car. Note your level anyway, especially if you parked on an EV level, then head for the exit: with a registered plate the gate opens on its own.
A Booked Alternative to the Garage
If you'd rather book ahead, two hotel lots next to FAT on Triply cost about $14 to $15 a day, less than the garage's $17.
Best Western (0.8 miles, free 24-hour shuttle on demand) was $99.01 and Wyndham Garden (0.5 miles, about a 5-minute walk, no shuttle) was $102.27, compared with $121.80 for the garage ($119 plus the $2.80 service fee). Triply prices are for a sample 7-day booking (check-in 13 November, check-out 19 November 2026), include taxes and fees, and change by date. Neither hotel listing mentions covered parking, so the garage is still the choice if you want your car out of the sun. Both hotel lots give a full refund if you cancel up to the day of arrival. See FAT parking prices.
