Which IND Parking Option Should You Choose?

For short visits use Hourly Parking in the garage; for trips of a few days or more, the Economy Lot is the best value on airport.

  • Under about 5 hours: Hourly Parking on Level 3 of the garage at $2 per half hour. At 6 hours it reaches $24, more than a $23 Daily ticket.
  • A day or two, close to the door: Daily Parking in the garage at $23, or valet at $32 if you want someone else to park.
  • Longer trips: the Economy Lot at $9 a day with a frequent free shuttle, or Park & Walk at $14 if you would rather walk than wait for a bus.
  • Want it booked ahead: the Wyndham Indianapolis Airport lot on Triply, about 2 miles away with a free shuttle.

Terminal Garage: Hourly and Daily Parking

The Terminal Garage is connected to the terminal by a climate-controlled Pedestrian Bridge and costs $23 a day, or $2 per half hour in the hourly section.

Daily Parking is on every floor, and Hourly Parking is on Level 3. The garage has covered floors plus an open-air top level, an 8 foot 2 inch height clearance, and 75 free EV charging spaces. Car rental counters and the Ground Transportation Center are on its first floor. Our IND parking garage guide has an hour-by-hour cost table, the EV charger count by level, and how to check whether a level is full.

Economy Lot and Park & Walk: Long-Term Parking

Both long-term options sit in the airport's Long Term Lot: Economy at $9 a day with a shuttle, and Park & Walk at $14 a day within walking distance.

The Economy Lot has nearly 8,000 spaces. Shuttle buses run 24/7 and pick up from numbered shelters every 5 to 7 minutes, and the airport says the trip averages 15 minutes from parking your car to the Ground Transportation Center, then a 5-minute walk to the terminal. Park & Walk is an 8 to 9 minute walk along a lighted path, has no shuttle, and takes credit cards only. Shelter numbers, the shuttle tracker and week-long costs are in our Indianapolis airport long-term parking guide.

Valet Parking at IND

Valet is on Level 3 of the Terminal Garage and costs $9 per hour or $32 per day.

It is the closest parking to the walkway into the terminal, a customer service representative is available 24/7, and valet customers get free EV charging that is guaranteed if you ask at check-in. Valet is run by Denison Parking for the airport. See our IND valet parking guide for the phone number and how it works.

Off-Airport Parking You Can Book

Wyndham Indianapolis Airport, a hotel lot at 2544 Executive Dr, about 2.1 miles from the airport, came to $52.80 for a sample 7-day stay, or about $7.54 a day.

For the same dates the Economy Lot would be $63 by the airport's calculator, so the Wyndham was about $10 less, or about $1.50 a day. Even counted as 6 days ($54), Economy would cost $1.20 more. The margin is thin, and on other dates the Wyndham could cost more than Economy, so compare your own dates. The hotel's free shuttle runs 24/7 on demand every half hour; you call (317) 248-2481 before you arrive and again when you have your bags. You pay in full when you book, and you get a full refund if you cancel before your arrival day. Triply prices are for a sample 7-day booking (check-in 10 AM on 13 November, check-out 2 PM on 19 November 2026), include taxes and fees, and change by date. Our Indianapolis airport hotel park and fly guide compares it with the airport's lots in detail, or you can see IND parking prices on Triply.

Can You Reserve Parking at IND?

No. The airport says it does not take parking reservations and all of its lots are first come, first served.

That includes valet. The airport suggests checking parking availability on its website before you leave home, because garage levels can fill. A booked off-airport lot is the only way to have a space confirmed in advance.

How to Save on IND Parking

The cheapest official rate is the Economy Lot at $9 a day, and the airport's free parkIND Plus program lets you earn free days.

parkIND Plus members earn one point per dollar spent and get ticketless entry and exit; 300 points buys a free Economy day. The airport publishes no coupon or promo codes and no military or veteran discount. Our guide to the cheapest parking at Indianapolis airport compares every option for a sample week.

Cell Phone Lot and Picking Someone Up

Parking is free in the Cell Phone Lot while you wait for an arriving passenger to call.

Take I-70 to exit 68 and follow the blue signs to the Cell Phone Lot, which has about 100 spaces. When your passenger is at the curb with their bags, drive to the arrivals level and pick them up. You can't leave a car unattended at the curb; the airport says unattended vehicles are towed immediately. To meet someone inside, park in the garage's Hourly section and walk across the Pedestrian Bridge on Level 3; visitors wait in Civic Plaza, not at the gate. Details are on the airport's passenger pick-up page.

Paying, Receipts, Lost Tickets and Help

You take a ticket when you enter and pay when you leave, by card at a pay station or with cash at a cashier booth.

  • Card only: Park & Walk takes credit cards only, and one Economy Lot exit is card only.
  • Receipts: pay stations and cashiers offer a receipt. If you lose it, the parking page links a form to generate your own parking receipt.
  • Lost ticket: see the cashier at the exit booth with your flight itinerary or airline ticket; a parking supervisor will process you out. The airport does not publish a lost-ticket fee.
  • Car trouble: call the Parking Supervisor at 317-487-5017 any time to find your car, inflate a tire or jump-start a battery, free of charge.
  • Other questions: Guest Services is at 317-487-7243, with a desk in Civic Plaza beyond the Ticketing Hall.

EV Charging and Accessible Parking

EV charging is free on Levels 3, 4 and 5 of the Terminal Garage, with 75 charging spaces including DC fast chargers.

Fast chargers are meant for stays under 4 hours while you charge; standard chargers are for longer trips. Charging is first come, first served, and you still pay the parking rate. Designated accessible spaces are available for vehicles displaying proper identification; for help, call the Parking Supervisor at 317-487-5017.

Getting to IND Without Parking

IndyGo Route 8 runs between the airport and downtown, and Uber, Lyft and taxis pick up at the terminal.

On weekdays, IndyGo Route 8 (Washington) leaves the airport from about 5 AM until after midnight, about every 30 minutes for most of the day, and an IndyGo day pass is $6. Uber and Lyft pick up at the Ground Transportation Center on the garage's first floor. Taxis wait at the lower-level curb outside Baggage Claim, with a $15 minimum fare from the airport. The airport is at 7800 Col. H. Weir Cook Memorial Drive, off I-70 exit 68, about 16 miles from downtown.

When to Arrive at IND

Plan to be at the terminal 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international one, and add your parking time on top.

That guidance is on the airport's security page. From the Economy Lot, allow about 20 minutes from parking to the terminal building. Checkpoint A opens at 3:30 AM and Checkpoint B at 3:45 AM, and TSA PreCheck uses Checkpoint A.
