Cheapest Way to Park for a Week

For a sample 7-day trip, the bookable Wyndham lot was the lowest total, about $10 under Economy.

The stay runs 10 AM on 13 November to 2 PM on 19 November, which the airport's calculator counts as 7 daily charges. Even counted as 6 days ($54), Economy would cost more than the Wyndham. Triply prices are for a sample 7-day booking (check-in 10 AM on 13 November, check-out 2 PM on 19 November 2026), include taxes and fees, and change by date. The margin is small, so compare your own dates; on some dates the Wyndham could cost more than Economy. What you get for booking is a space confirmed in advance and a full refund if you cancel before your arrival day; the trade-off is a shuttle every half hour that you call for, rather than one every 5 to 7 minutes. Our Wyndham park and fly guide covers how the shuttle works.

How IND Counts Parking Fees per Day

The airport's fee calculator charges one daily rate for each 24 hours parked, rounded up.

So 24 hours and 10 minutes in Economy counts as two days, $18. Timing your return inside a 24-hour block can save a full day's charge. The airport adds that its calculator is an estimate and the parking system's actual charge may differ.

Short Stays: Hourly or Daily?

For trips under about 5 hours, Hourly Parking in the garage is cheapest; beyond that, a Daily ticket wins.

Hourly is $2 per half hour, so 6 hours reaches $24, more than the $23 Daily rate. Our IND garage rate table shows the hour-by-hour costs.

Cheapest Option by Trip Length

The cheapest choice depends mostly on how long you will be gone.

  • Picking someone up: the free Cell Phone Lot, then meet them at the curb.
  • Up to about 5 hours: Hourly Parking in the garage at $2 per half hour.
  • A day or more: the Economy Lot at $9 a day, or a bookable off-airport lot if its price for your dates is lower.
  • Frequent flyers: join parkIND Plus so every Economy stay counts toward a free day.

Is There Free Parking at Indianapolis Airport?

Only in the Cell Phone Lot, and only while you wait for an arriving passenger.

The lot has about 100 spaces; follow the blue signs from I-70 exit 68. It is for waiting until your passenger has landed and collected their bags, and unattended cars at the terminal curb are towed. For trips, the closest thing to free parking is a parkIND Plus reward day.

Indianapolis Airport Parking Coupons and Discounts

The airport publishes no coupon or promo codes; its official way to save is the free parkIND Plus program.

Members earn one point per dollar spent and get ticketless entry and exit. Points needed for one free day, from the airport's parkIND Plus page:

  • Economy Lot: 300 points (one free day for roughly every 33 days parked)
  • Park & Walk: 465 points
  • Garage Daily: 775 points
  • Valet: 1,075 points

Hourly parking earns points but can't be redeemed for a free day, and points expire after 24 months without activity. The airport lists no military, veteran or disabled-veteran parking discount.

Can You Prepay or Book Parking at IND?

Not with the airport: it takes no parking reservations and every lot is first come, first served.

You pay when you leave. To lock in a price and a space before you go, book an off-airport lot; the Wyndham on Triply is paid in full at booking. For long trips on airport, our Indianapolis long-term parking guide explains the Economy shuttle, and if you'd rather pay for convenience, see what IND valet costs.
