Reno Airport Parking Lots and Garage: Which One to Use
RNO has four 24/7 parking options plus overflow lots, and the right one depends on how long you stay and how far you want to walk.
Short-Term Garage
The Short-Term Garage on the first level is the closest parking to the terminal and is meant for stays under six hours, at $3 per hour or $36 per day. When it is close to full, the airport may limit stays to two hours or less. Clearance is 7 feet 7 inches. Motorcycles and mopeds park free in marked spaces on this level.
Long-Term Garage
The Long-Term Garage covers the second level and the roof, at $22 per day, with covered and uncovered spaces and a skywalk to the terminal. It is the only lot you can reserve. When first-come spaces fill, the live status switches to "RES*", meaning only reservation holders can enter. Clearance is 8 feet 2 inches. Both garages are reached from the Airport Loop Road off E. Plumb Lane.
Long-Term Surface Lot
The Long-Term Surface Lot is an uncovered lot close to the terminal at $18 per day, with no height limit as long as your vehicle fits one space. Accessible spaces are on the east side, nearest the terminal. Our Reno airport long-term parking rates guide compares it with the garage for longer trips.
Park & Walk Lot
The Park & Walk Lot at 2555 Aviation Way is the cheapest official option at $16 per day, with a 10 to 15 minute walk to the terminal and no shuttle. It opened on 21 July 2026 with 560 spaces in a former overflow lot. It is ticketless and card only: insert a credit or debit card to enter and use the same card to exit. Reach it from the I-580 South airport off-ramp or from Terminal Way.
Reno Airport Overflow Parking and Live Availability
When all four main options show "FULL" or "RES*", staff direct you to an overflow lot, which costs $18 per day with hourly rates.
Overflow lots open only when needed, and the airport asks you not to drive straight to one. Enter through the main parking entrance next to the garage and staff will guide you. Shuttles run about every 15 minutes while overflow lots are open, and some off-site overflow lots take longer. Walking from them is not recommended. Overflow lots are ticketless and cashless. The airport says some overflow lots near the terminal have permanently moved because of construction, and it does not publish names or colors for them.
The airport parking page shows real-time open spaces for each lot in green, yellow or red. RNO says hundreds of spaces can fill in as little as 20 minutes, and the busiest periods are holidays and Washoe County school breaks.
RNO Airport Map: Where the Lots Are
The two garages and the Long-Term Surface Lot sit on the Airport Loop Road next to the terminal, while the Park & Walk Lot and the Free Waiting Lot are a short distance away off Terminal Way.
- Terminal: 2001 E Plumb Ln, Reno, NV 89502. E. Plumb Lane leads into the airport entrance, reachable from US-395 and I-580.
- Garages and Surface Lot: Airport Loop Road off E. Plumb Ln.
- Park & Walk Lot: 2555 Aviation Way, from the I-580 South airport off-ramp or Terminal Way.
- Free Waiting Lot: 1198 National Guard Way, about four minutes from the terminal.

How to Reserve Parking at RNO
You can reserve the Long-Term Garage on the airport's own system at reservation.renoairport.com for the $22 daily rate plus a one-time $4.75 booking fee.
RNO moved to its own reservation system in early October 2026, so the previous third-party system no longer takes new bookings (existing ones are honored). You must book at least six hours ahead, the reservation guarantees a space but not a specific spot, and you can cancel free up to 24 hours before. Our Reno-Tahoe airport parking reservation system guide covers QR codes, arriving early or late and refunds.
Pick-Up, Drop-Off and the Free Waiting Lot
Drop-off and pick-up happen at the front curb outside ticketing and baggage claim, and the curb is for loading and unloading only.
Drivers must stay with their vehicle; unattended cars may be cited, towed or searched by Airport Police. If you are early, use the Free Waiting Lot (formerly the Cell Phone Waiting Lot) at 1198 National Guard Way. It is free and open 24/7, vehicles must be attended, and commercial and ride-share vehicles are not allowed. You can also park in the Short-Term Garage and meet your party inside. The skybridge over the curb lanes has 14 feet 6 inches of clearance and the curb canopies 13 feet.
Does Reno Airport Have Free Parking?
RNO has no free long-term parking, but a few things are free.
- The first 10 minutes in any lot.
- The Free Waiting Lot for drivers meeting a flight.
- Motorcycles and mopeds in marked spaces on the Short-Term Garage first floor.
- Vehicles with qualifying veteran plates, including Disabled Veteran, Disabled Female Veteran, Ex-POW, and Purple Heart, Silver Star, Bronze Star, Pearl Harbor and Medal of Honor plates with ADA designation. RNO offers no other veteran discount.

Triply prices are for a sample 7-day booking (check-in 13 November, check-out 19 November 2026), include fees, and change by date. Airport totals are 7 days at the published daily rate, because RNO does not publish a weekly rate.
Best Western Plus Sparks-Reno at 55 E Nugget Ave, Sparks, is 2.7 miles away and came to about $11/day, roughly $33 less than the Park & Walk Lot for the week. Its shuttle runs 24/7 on demand and picks up outside Door D. SureStay Plus at 1981 Terminal Way is 0.8 miles away and came to about $19/day: more than Park & Walk and the Surface Lot, and less than the Long-Term Garage. For that you get a 24/7 on-demand shuttle, or a walk via the crosswalk, and a space booked ahead. Both refund 100% if you cancel up to the day of arrival. See our Reno airport off-site parking guide for check-in steps, or compare RNO parking on Triply.
EV Charging, Accessible Parking and Height Limits
RNO has two free Level I (115V) EV chargers, more than 90 accessible spaces, and height limits only in the garages.
- EV charging: one charger at the south-central end of the Short-Term Garage first floor and one at the southwest corner of the Long-Term Garage third floor. First come, first served; regular parking rates apply.
- Accessible parking: more than 90 spaces including 12 van-accessible, on the Short-Term Garage ground floor, Long-Term Garage levels 2 and 3, the east side of the Surface Lot and in the Park & Walk Lot. If the Long-Term Garage shows full, press the call button at the entrance; a valid placard is required.
- Height: Short-Term Garage 7 feet 7 inches, Long-Term Garage 8 feet 2 inches, no limit in the Surface Lot or Park & Walk. Vehicles that need more than one space are not allowed and may be towed.
Paying for Parking and Lost Tickets
Every main lot accepts ticketless entry with a credit card, and losing your ticket or exiting with a different card can cost a $28 fee.
With Credit Express, insert your card at the entry kiosk and use the same card to exit. The garages also have Pay on Foot machines (card, debit, Apple Pay or cash) and Pay in Lane exits (bills, credit or debit). The Park & Walk Lot and overflow lots are card only. RNO takes American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa. For a lost or damaged ticket, use the cashier on the far-left side of the garage exit or call (775) 328-6551. For a receipt, email GT@renoairport.com with the date, amount and last four digits of your card.
Construction at RNO and Parking
The airport's MoreRNO construction program is under way, but the parking garage stays open and parking remains available.
Work in progress includes the new B Concourse, a Ground Transportation Center and new police and Airport Authority headquarters, with most projects due in 2028 and Concourse B in 2029. When the Ground Transportation Center opens in 2028, moving rental cars out of the public garage will free upwards of 600 parking spaces near the terminal.
