As of October 2026, the cheapest official ALB airport parking is the Economy E-Lot at $7/day, with a free shuttle to the terminal 24/7. The Long Term lot is $12/day, the North and South garages $18/day and Short Term $24/day. Two hotel lots near the airport are bookable on Triply at about $9 and $11/day all-in for a sample week, so the E-Lot is still the lowest price, and Baymont costs less than every walk-to-terminal option, with Hampton Inn about level with the Long Term lot.
This guide covers each official lot and garage at Albany International Airport, the rates, how to pay, where to wait for arriving passengers, EV charging, accessible parking and the two off-site hotel lots. Official rates come from the Albany International Airport parking page.
ALB Airport Parking Rates at a Glance
The Economy E-Lot is the cheapest official option at $7/day and Short Term is the most expensive at $24/day.

These rates took effect on 1 January 2025, the first change in five years for the long-term lots and garages, so older guides quoting lower prices are out of date. The airport does not publish weekly rates or say whether tax is added. For the free period in Short Term, the airport's pages differ: the parking map says the first 30 minutes are free, while the rates page says the first hour. For a full worked example by trip length, see our Albany airport parking cost breakdown.
Albany Airport Parking Lots and Garages: Which One to Use
The airport says it offers parking in three surface lots and two garages, and the right one depends on how long you are away and how far you want to walk.
Economy E-Lot (lowest price)
The Economy E-Lot costs $7/day and is southeast of the airport, with access directly off Albany Shaker Road. A free shuttle runs to the terminal 24/7, and the shuttle buses have a hydraulic wheelchair lift. The airport does not publish how often the shuttle runs. Our Albany airport economy lot guide covers the shuttle and location in detail.
Long Term lot
The main Long Term lot is behind the North Parking Garage at $12/day, close enough to walk to the terminal. Its main entrance defaults to an E-ZPass Plus lane. If you don't want your tag charged, put it in a read-prevention bag or use the Long Term entrance at the back of the garage: take the first left after driving in front of the North Garage. See our Albany airport long term parking guide for multi-day stays.
North and South garages
Garage parking is $18/day on floors 2, 3 and 4 of the North Garage (GP1) and floors 1 to 4 of the South Garage (GP2). Both garages are reachable by elevator, and both have free EV charging. Our Albany airport parking garage guide compares the two.
Short Term
Short Term is on the first level of the North Parking Garage and in a signed area behind and next to it, directly across from the terminal. It costs $2 an hour after the free period, up to $24/day, so it suits drop-offs, pickups and very short trips, not multi-day parking.
Albany International Airport Parking Map
The garages, Short Term and the Long Term lot sit next to the terminal, while the E-Lot and the cell phone lot are along Albany Shaker Road.
- Short Term: North Garage level 1 and a signed area beside it, across from the terminal.
- North Garage (GP1): floors 2 to 4.
- South Garage (GP2): floors 1 to 4.
- Long Term: behind the North Garage.
- Economy E-Lot: southeast of the airport, off Albany Shaker Road, linked by shuttle.
- Cell phone lot: right side of Albany Shaker Road as you approach from I-87 (temporarily closed for expansion until early November 2026; use the temporary lot at Heritage Lane and Albany Shaker Road).
The airport's official parking map is linked from its parking page. Construction on the $100 million Main Terminal Expansion is underway in front of the terminal, with reduced traffic lanes and some vestibules temporarily closed. If you park in the Long Term lot or the North Garage, the airport suggests the south crosswalk, which connects directly to airline ticketing. When the new Departure Hall is finished, it will have direct access to the North Garage.
Cell Phone Lot, Pick-Up and Drop-Off at ALB
Wait in the free cell phone lot or a garage, not at the curb: curbside parking is never permitted at ALB.
The cell phone lot is on the right side of Albany Shaker Road as you approach from I-87, about two minutes from the terminal, and it doubles as an observation area for watching planes. The airport closed it on 9 September 2026 to expand it from 32 to 67 spaces and expects it to reopen in early November; until then, use the temporary cell phone lot at Heritage Lane and Albany Shaker Road. Overnight parking is not allowed in either one. The airport says the garages and lots, including the cell phone lot, are free for the first hour. Wait until your passenger has their bags before you pull up. Uber and Lyft drop off in front of the terminal and pick up at the curb outside baggage claim, and hotel shuttles use the Commercial Lane directly across from the terminal.
How to Pay for Parking at Albany Airport
You can pay with E-ZPass Plus, a credit card or cash, and there is no official option to reserve or prepay online.
- E-ZPass Plus: enter through an E-ZPass Plus lane and your tag is read on the way in and out, with no ticket. Most lots accept it. For receipts, email your name, tag number, date and email to Park@albanyairport.com.
- Credit card: insert your card at the entry gate and the same card at the exit. All lots accept cards.
- Cash: take a ticket at entry and pay at the pay-on-foot station in baggage claim near carousel #2, then exit within the grace period.
The airport has also warned about an unauthorized website selling reservations for its lots, which it says is not affiliated with ALB. The airport does not publish a lost-ticket fee; call parking information at (518) 242-2277 with questions.
EV Charging and Accessible Parking
EV charging is free while you park, at 24 stations across the Long Term lot and both garages.
- Long Term lot: 3 stations at the back near the exit plaza and 8 on the west side.
- North Garage: 3 stations on the 2nd floor, facing the terminal.
- South Garage: 10 stations on the 4th floor.
Accessible parking is in every lot and on every garage floor, and you need a handicapped plate or a valid placard on display. Accessible spaces on the parking decks are close to an elevator and the exit, and the ticket and payment booths can be reached from the driver's seat. The airport does not publish a garage height clearance, and it lists no valet parking.

Triply prices are for a sample stay (check-in 10 AM on 13 November, check-out 2 PM on 19 November 2026, billed as 7 days), include taxes and fees, and change by date.
Baymont came to $60.92 for the sample week, which is more than the E-Lot ($42 to $49 at the posted $7/day) but less than the Long Term lot ($72 to $84). Hampton Inn came to $77.67, about the same as the Long Term lot and well under the garages. What you get for the price is a reservation made in advance, a 100% refund up to the day of arrival, and front-desk check-in. The trade-off is shuttle hours: the E-Lot shuttle runs 24/7, while Baymont has no shuttle from 11 PM to 4 AM and Hampton runs to the airport from 4 AM to 10:30 PM. Both hotels also appear on the airport's own list of hotels with an airport shuttle. Read the Albany airport park and fly hotels guide for details, or compare Albany airport parking on Triply.
