Albany Airport Parking Garage Rates
Garage parking is $18/day after 3 hours, $6 more per day than the Long Term lot and $11 more than the E-Lot.
- Up to 1 hour: free.
- 1 to 2 hours: $2.
- 2 to 3 hours: $4.
- Over 3 hours: $18 daily maximum.
- 3 days: $54; 7 days: $126 at the daily maximum.
For a week away, the garage costs $42 more than the Long Term lot and $77 more than the E-Lot. Our Albany airport parking cost breakdown prices every lot by trip length.
North Garage and Short Term
The first level of the North Garage is Short Term parking at $2 an hour, up to $24/day, so go up to floors 2 to 4 for the $18 garage rate.
The airport's terminal expansion will give the new Departure Hall direct access to the North Garage. Until then, construction is underway in front of the terminal, and the airport suggests North Garage parkers use the south crosswalk, which connects directly to airline ticketing. Follow posted signs and security staff, since lanes are reduced and some vestibules may be closed.
Using the Garages for Pickups and Short Visits
The garages are free for the first hour, so they are a good place to wait for an arriving passenger.
The airport recommends waiting in a garage or the cell phone lot until your passenger has collected their luggage, then pulling up to the curb, because curbside parking is never permitted. If you go into the terminal to meet someone, a visit of 1 to 2 hours costs $2 and 2 to 3 hours costs $4 in either garage. Uber and Lyft pick up at the curb outside baggage claim, and hotel shuttles use the Commercial Lane directly across from the terminal.
Garage Parking for Longer Trips
For trips of several days, the garage price adds up quickly at $18 a day.
Three days in a garage is $54, compared with $36 in the Long Term lot and $21 in the E-Lot. The garages make most sense when you want the shortest walk, when you are carrying a lot of luggage, or when you want an EV charge while you are away, since charging is free while you park. If you have an E-ZPass Plus tag, you can drive in and out without a ticket.
Accessible Parking, Elevators and Payment
Both garages have accessible spaces on every floor and are reachable by elevator.
Accessible spaces on the parking decks are close to an elevator and the exit, and you need a handicapped plate or a valid placard on display. Ticket and payment booths can be reached from the driver's seat. To pay, use E-ZPass Plus (no ticket), insert the same credit card at entry and exit, or take a ticket and pay cash at the pay-on-foot station in baggage claim near carousel #2. For parking questions, call (518) 242-2277.
Is the Garage Worth $18/Day?
The garage is worth it if you want a short walk and a space in a parking structure; otherwise the lots cost less.
- Walk for less: the Long Term lot behind the North Garage is $12/day. See our Albany airport long term parking guide.
- Lowest price: the E-Lot is $7/day with a 24/7 shuttle.
- Booked in advance: two hotel lots on Triply came to about $9/day (Baymont Albany Airport) and $11/day (Hampton Inn Albany Wolf Road) for a sample week, both cheaper than the garage. Triply prices are for a sample stay (check-in 10 AM on 13 November, check-out 2 PM on 19 November 2026, billed as 7 days), include taxes and fees, and change by date. Their shuttles don't run overnight.
For every lot, the map and pickup rules, see the ALB airport parking guide.
