Is There Economy Parking at ORF?

No: ORF has no separate economy lot, and Daily Parking is its long-term option.

The airport's accessibility page calls it "Daily (long-term) parking" and says charges are the same in the outdoor daily lot and the garages. The Daily East surface lot is now closed to public parking except for oversized vehicles, so nearly everyone parks in a garage. Garages B and C have a 6' 7" clearance; Garages A and D are taller. Our ORF garage guide covers each one.

Long-Term Parking at ORF vs Off-Site

Triply prices are for the sample dates shown, include fees and change by date. Triply billed the stay as 7 days, and the total was paid in full online. ORF's range depends on whether the last 4 hours count as part of a day ($12 at $3 an hour) or a full $14 day, which the airport doesn't specify.

What you get at Econo Lodge Norfolk Airport: a booked price, a lot at 3343 N Military Hwy, Norfolk, no extra charge for full-size vans, pickup trucks or large SUVs, no hotel stay required, and a full refund if you cancel up to the day of arrival. What you give up: the lot lists its shuttle as temporarily suspended and says you may arrange your own Uber or Lyft. Coming home, rideshare pick-up is at the Arrivals Terminal curb near Door 3, per the airport's rideshare pick-up directions.

Which Long-Term Option Fits Your Trip

Choose by trip length and how you feel about two rideshare trips.

  • Week or longer, fine with Uber or Lyft: the off-site lot saves the most on parking; check that two rides of about a mile still leave you ahead, because on a short trip they can erase the saving.
  • Short trip, or you want to walk to your flight: ORF Daily Parking at $14/day, with covered walks from the garages to the terminal.
  • Tall vehicle: Garage A or D, or the Daily East lot; Econo Lodge also charges no extra for big vehicles.
  • EV: Garage D has 12 free charging spaces you can stay plugged into for the whole trip.

Getting From Long-Term Parking to Your Flight

From ORF Daily Parking you walk: no shuttle is involved.

The airport says four parking garages connect to the Arrivals Terminal for a covered transfer between your car and your gate, and new moving walkways link the terminals. Airlines recommend arriving 90 minutes before a domestic flight and 2 hours before an international one; TSA checkpoints run from 4:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. If you park off-site, add time to book and wait for your ride.

Tips for Leaving Your Car Long-Term

Know the 60-day limit, bring a card, and note the help line.

  • Daily Parking allows 60 days; call (757) 857-3348 to request longer.
  • ORF parking is card or phone wallet only, no cash.
  • Security is on duty 24 hours, and the same number handles battery jumps when you get back.
  • ORF isn't taking new prepaid reservations, and there's no official promo code; see our ORF parking promo code guide for real ways to pay less.
