As of October 2026, ORF airport parking costs $14/day in Daily Parking (Garage A Levels 3 to 8 and Garages B, C and D) and $30/day in Hourly Parking (Garage A Level 1), and any stay under 30 minutes is free. Every garage is a short walk from the terminals, so there is no shuttle to wait for. The one off-site lot on Triply, Econo Lodge Norfolk Airport 1.1 miles away, came to about $9.25/day for a sample week, but its shuttle is currently suspended.

This guide covers the rates, which garage to use, free pick-up options, what changed with reservations, and when off-site parking makes sense. Official figures come from the Norfolk International Airport parking page.

Stays under 30 minutes are free in any lot or garage. At $3 an hour, Daily Parking reaches its $14 cap on the fifth hour; Hourly reaches $30 at 6 hours. The airport does not publish weekly or monthly rates or a lost-ticket fee, and its online fee calculator says estimates are based on your date and time of entry. For what a weekend or a full week costs in each, see our ORF parking fees by length of stay.

Where to Park at ORF

Use Daily Parking for almost every trip: it is cheaper than Hourly at every length of stay, including short ones.

Hourly Parking: Garage A, Level 1 ($30/day)

Hourly Parking sits on the first level of Garage A. You pay $5 an hour against $3 in Daily, so you are paying for the convenient level, not for a better rate. It makes sense for a quick drop-in where you want the shortest walk. Maximum stay is 30 days.

Daily Parking: Garages A, B, C and D ($14/day)

Daily Parking covers Garage A Levels 3 to 8 and all of Garages B, C and D, at the same $14 daily max everywhere. The airport says four garages connect to the Arrivals Terminal, so you can walk between your car and your flight under cover, and moving walkways now link the terminals. Maximum stay is 60 days; call (757) 857-3348 to request longer. Our guide to the ORF parking garages covers each garage, height limits, EV charging and the rental car return level.

Tall and Oversized Vehicles: Daily East Lot

The Daily East surface lot is closed to public parking except for oversized vehicles. Per the airport's parking page, garage height limits are 8' 1" in Garage A, 6' 7" in Garages B and C, and 8' 2" on Garage D's ground level (8' 1" on its other levels); another airport page lists 8' 1" for all of Garage D, so allow for the lower figure. Standard spaces are 18 feet long and a vehicle can't take up more than one. Motorcycles can park in any lot or garage at the normal rates.

Long-Term and Overnight Parking at ORF

Daily Parking is ORF's long-term option: $14 a day for up to 60 days, with no separate economy lot.

A full week costs $98 at the daily max and two weeks $196. All lots, garages and exit plazas are open 24 hours, so overnight parking works like any other day. Security guards are on duty around the clock, every garage has service response phones, and you can call 757-857-3348 for a battery jump when you get back. For week-long trip math and the off-site comparison, see Norfolk airport long-term parking rates.

Off-Site Parking Near ORF

One off-site lot is bookable on Triply, Econo Lodge Norfolk Airport, at about $9.25/day for a sample week, but right now you need your own ride to the terminal.

The lot is at 3343 N Military Hwy, Norfolk, 1.1 miles from the airport. For a 13 to 19 November sample stay (billed as 7 days), it came to $64.75 on Triply, paid in full online. Triply prices are for the sample dates shown, include fees and change by date. The same stay in ORF Daily Parking runs $96 to $98 (six full days at $14 plus either 4 hours at $3 or a seventh $14 day; the airport doesn't say how a partial last day is billed), so the lot is about $31 to $33 cheaper on parking alone.

The catch: the lot lists its shuttle as temporarily suspended and says you may arrange your own Uber or Lyft. Add two rides of about a mile each to your math; on a short trip they can cancel out the saving. The lot charges no extra for full-size vans, pickup trucks or large SUVs, no hotel stay is required, and you get a full refund if you cancel up to the day of arrival. Can You Reserve ORF Parking?

Not with the airport right now: ORF stopped taking new prepaid parking reservations on 31 August 2026.

The airport's public notice on parking reservations gives 31 August 2026 as the effective date (the parking page says no new reservations from 1 September 2026) and says it suspended prepaid reservations and the Parking Perks loyalty program as construction progresses. Existing reservations are honored, and existing members can still log in from the parking page to change or cancel them. The airport says a new reserved parking option will come "at a later date" but gives no date. Until then, you pay at the garage exit; booking the off-site lot on Triply is one way to lock in a price ahead. Our ways to save on ORF parking covers promo codes, discounts and the military question.

Paying for Parking at ORF

ORF parking is card only: cash is not accepted.

Self-service exit lanes take major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Visa or Mastercard debit cards that run as credit. Debit cards that need a PIN won't work. The parking page mentions reverse ATMs in Departures that turn cash into a card for a fee, but the airport's Know Before You Go page says cash conversion cards are not accepted for parking charges, so bring a credit card or a phone wallet. If you get stuck at a gate, press the intercom button to reach a parking attendant.

Picking Someone Up: Park & Wait and the 30-Minute Rule

Pick-up is free two ways: wait in the free Park & Wait Lot, or park in any lot or garage for under 30 minutes.

The Park & Wait Lot has 80 spaces. Stay with your car until your passenger calls, then drive to the Arrivals Terminal curb at baggage claim. That curb is a loading zone only, with no parking or waiting, and federal rules don't allow unattended cars at the terminal curb. Want to meet them inside? Park in any garage and leave within 30 minutes to pay nothing. Rideshare pick-up is at the Arrivals Terminal curb near Door 3, per the airport's ride share pick-up page.

EV Charging and Accessible Parking

ORF has 12 complimentary EV charging spaces in Garage D, and accessible spaces in several garages and lots.

Six charging spaces are on Garage D's ground level and six on Level 3, both in Daily Parking, and you can stay plugged in for your whole trip. The charging is free; the airport doesn't say the parking is, so expect the Daily rate. Accessible spaces are in Garages A and D, Hourly Parking in Garage A, and the Departures North and South lots, with wheelchair ramps at the lots and garages and elevators in the garages. Placard holders get the same free 30 minutes as everyone, and the airport says no additional discounts apply.

Construction at ORF

ORF is in the middle of a multi-year modernization, and for drivers the main changes are at the entrance and in how parking is sold.

A realigned entrance intersection off Norview Avenue and Robin Hood Road, with four-way signals directing drivers to Arrivals, Departures and Parking, is expected to be done in summer 2027. A new rental car facility south of the Departures Terminal is expected in early 2028, and the airport says moving rental cars there will return existing garage spaces to public parking. Follow the work on the airport's TransformORF project site. Airlines recommend arriving 90 minutes before a domestic flight and 2 hours before an international one, and TSA checkpoints run from 4:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
