As of October 2026, San Antonio International Airport has two public parking garages: the Short-Term Garage next to the terminals, at $30/day from 1 November 2026 ($29 before), and the Long-Term Garage, a 5-minute walk away, at $20/day ($16 before). Both have a 7-foot height limit. A third garage, 2,700 spaces for the new Terminal C, is under construction and due in early 2028.

SAT Parking Garages Compared

The Short-Term Garage is closest and holds valet and the reservation rows; the Long-Term Garage is cheaper for longer trips.

Both garages are free for the first 15 minutes and add a $0.99 or $2.99 transaction fee per exit. The garage rate is set when you drive in, so entering before 1 November keeps the old price. Rates are from the Short-Term Garage page and the Long-Term Garage page; our SAT parking cost guide prices whole trips.

Short-Term Garage

The Short-Term Garage sits next to the terminals, about a 3-minute walk to check-in, and is the airport's choice for brief trips.

It has three special areas:

  • Fly Away Valet, Level 0: take the first entrance to the right at the gate, marked "Valet" in red. $37/day from 1 November plus a $3.99 fee and tax; covered storage, luggage help, card only. Valet phone 210-960-7520.
  • Preferred Reserve, Level 1, Rows 6A, 6B and 7A: reservation-only spaces, the closest self-park to the terminals.
  • 3-Hour Pick-Up/Drop-Off, Level 1, Rows 3B and 4A: $5 for the first hour and $4 for each extra hour, up to 3 hours ($13), for meeting or seeing off travelers.

Long-Term Garage

The Long-Term Garage is within walking distance of the terminals, about 5 minutes on foot, with covered and uncovered parking.

At $20/day from 1 November it is twice the Economy Green rate but saves the shuttle. A week comes to about $142.99 including the transaction fee. The airport says both garages have ample accessible spaces, and the Long-Term Garage has courtesy phones if you need help. For Economy and longer stays, see our SAT long-term parking rates guide.

Height Clearance and Oversized Vehicles

Both SAT garages have a height limit of 7 feet.

Taller vans, trucks with racks and oversized vehicles should use the surface lots, such as Economy Green. Ask the Parking Office at 210-207-3490 if you're unsure.

Garage Availability and Status

The airport shows live space availability on its parking site, so check it before you leave home.

Availability changes through the day, so we don't repeat snapshots here. If you want a guaranteed space, reserve: the airport advertises reserved parking as guaranteed even when a garage is full. Our guide to reserving SAT parking explains how. You can also download the airport's parking map from FlySATParking.com.

Paying and Getting Help in the Garages

The garages use Metropolis plate recognition: register once, then drive in and out with no ticket.

  • Register: scan a QR code in the garage or sign up at app.metropolis.io before you go. Receipts come by text.
  • Other payment: cash, major cards and contactless are accepted.
  • Phone: the Parking Office is 210-207-3490, for lost cars, flat batteries, tire inflation or emergency gasoline, all free.
  • EV charging: available in select areas, first come first served; the airport doesn't publish the charging fee.
  • Disabled veterans: enrolled Texas DV and military-plate holders get 25% off the Short-Term Garage and 50% off the Long-Term Garage. See SAT DV plate parking.

New Terminal C Parking Garage

A new seven-level garage with 2,700 spaces is being built to serve Terminal C, with opening planned for early 2028.

According to the Terminal C parking garage project page, it will connect to Terminal C by a covered, climate-controlled walkway and have an enclosed lobby with restrooms, flight screens and check-in kiosks, plus real-time availability displays at the entry lanes. It will also house the Ground Transportation Center, where rideshare and public transit will pick up and drop off. Groundbreaking was in June 2026. SAT says its 1 November rate change helps fund a new parking garage and a ground transportation facility.

A Cheaper Alternative to the Garages

If price matters more than the walk, the one off-site lot on Triply, Homewood Suites, 1.1 miles from SAT, came to $44.63 for a sample week (about $6.40/day), against about $142.99 in the Long-Term Garage. Its shuttle goes to the airport hourly from 4 AM to midnight. Triply prices are for a sample 7-day booking (check-in 10 AM on 13 November, check-out 2 PM on 19 November 2026), include taxes and fees, and change by date. See our SAT off-site and hotel parking guide.
