Rates are set by when you drive in: a car that enters before 1 November 2026 pays the old rate for the whole stay, and one that enters on or after 1 November pays the new rate. Each exit also carries a transaction fee of $0.99 for stays of 16 minutes to 3 hours or $2.99 for longer stays ($3.99 for valet). The first 15 minutes are free in Economy Green and both garages. The airport publishes no weekly or monthly rates. For a full breakdown by hour and by trip length, see our San Antonio airport parking prices and fees guide.

SAT Parking Options: Which One to Use

Pick Economy Green for the lowest price on any trip over a few hours, the Long-Term Garage for covered parking within walking distance, or the Short-Term Garage and valet when you want the shortest walk.

Economy Green ($10/day)

Economy Green is SAT's long-stay surface lot. Free shuttles run between the Green and Red lots and the terminal curb 24 hours a day, every 5 to 10 minutes at peak times and every 10 to 15 minutes off-peak, and every bus has a wheelchair lift. You can track the bus live in the PassioGo app under "SAT Parking". Our SAT long-term and economy parking guide compares it with the Long-Term Garage for week-long trips.

Long-Term Garage ($20/day from 1 November)

The Long-Term Garage is a 5-minute walk from the terminals and has covered and uncovered spaces. It is the middle option: twice the Economy rate, but no shuttle to wait for.

Short-Term Garage ($30/day from 1 November)

The Short-Term Garage sits next to the terminals, a 3-minute walk to check-in. It also holds the reservation-only Preferred Reserve rows (Level 1, Rows 6A, 6B and 7A) and the 3-Hour Pick-Up/Drop-Off rows (Level 1, Rows 3B and 4A). Both garages have a 7-foot height limit. Our SAT parking garage guide covers levels, height and the new Terminal C garage.

Fly Away Valet ($37/day from 1 November)

Valet is on Level 0 of the Short-Term Garage: take the first entrance to the right at the gate, marked "Valet" in red. It runs 24/7, cars are stored covered, staff help with luggage, and payment is by card only, plus a $3.99 service fee and tax. Call 210-960-7520 for valet.

Reservations and How to Save

Yes, you can reserve SAT parking ahead: the airport takes prepaid bookings for Economy Green, the Long-Term Garage, Preferred Reserve and valet, up to 6 months out.

A booking guarantees you a space in that facility, though not a specific spot, and the airport says booking online gets its lowest available rates. You can cancel up to 1 hour before your booked time for a full refund, or amend the booking by then and pay or get back any price difference. The airport does not publish a standing promo code; codes go to people on its email and text list. Our guide to SAT parking reservations and promo codes explains how booking works and the honest ways to pay less.

Disabled Veteran and Military Plates Parking

SAT gives free Economy parking (up to 30 days), 50% off the Long-Term Garage and 25% off the Short-Term Garage to holders of Texas-issued DV or qualifying military specialty plates, but only after they enroll.

Enrollment takes up to five business days and needs your driver's license or military ID, your Texas registration renewal receipt and a photo of the plate. Purple Heart and POW plates stay free. Valet is not included, and the registered owner must be present at exit. If you drive in without being enrolled, you pay the posted rate and the airport will not refund it. Our San Antonio airport disabled veteran parking guide walks through eligibility, the plate list and how Texas law fits in.

Cell Phone Lot, Pick-Up and Drop-Off

The free Cell Phone Waiting Lot is the place to wait for an arriving passenger, and curbside waiting is not allowed.

The lot is one block off 410/Airport Blvd, next to the QMart and Burger King, with 150 spaces, free Wi-Fi and a flight status board, open 24/7. You must stay with your car. If you want to meet someone inside, the 3-Hour Pick-Up/Drop-Off rows in the Short-Term Garage cost $5 for the first hour and $4 for each extra hour, up to 3 hours ($13).

  • Rideshare: Uber, Lyft and other approved services pick up at the outer commercial curb, lower level of Terminal A.
  • Hotel and off-site parking shuttles: outside baggage claim on the lower level. A hotel courtesy phone is in baggage claim.
  • Bus: VIA Route 5 runs to downtown in about 30 minutes for $1.30, from the far west end of Terminal B. Details are on the airport's public transportation page.

Construction and the New Terminal C Garage

Curbside construction is under way through December 2026, with two of the four lanes at the far end of Terminal B closed on both levels.

Departures stay open with limited access, so leave extra time; the airport suggests the 3-Hour spaces or the Cell Phone Lot instead of the curb. Shuttle and rideshare pick-up spots have moved slightly but stay outside baggage claim. Looking ahead, a 2,700-space, seven-level garage with a covered walkway to the new Terminal C is under construction and due to open in early 2028. SAT says the 1 November rate change helps fund a new parking garage and a ground transportation facility. Check the airport construction page before you go.

Paying, Receipts and Parking Help

SAT uses Metropolis license-plate recognition, so there is no paper ticket: register your plate once, drive in and drive out, and your receipt arrives by text.

You can register before your trip at app.metropolis.io or by scanning a QR code in the garage. Prepaid reservations don't need a Metropolis account. SAT parking facilities also accept cash, all major cards and contactless payment. Other things to know:

  • 30-day limit: vehicles can stay up to 30 days. For longer, register with the Parking Office first, or the car may be towed.
  • Free help: battery starts, emergency gasoline, tire inflation and help finding your car. Call 210-207-3490.
  • Accessible parking: accessible spaces are in every parking area, close to elevators, terminals or shuttle stops.
  • EV charging: stations are in select areas on a first-come basis. The airport doesn't publish the fee, so ask the parking office.
  • Security: the airport says its lots are well lit, covered by cameras 24/7 and patrolled.

Off-Site Parking Near SAT

One off-site lot near SAT is bookable on Triply, and it cost less than Economy Green for our sample week.

Homewood Suites, at 8531 Broadway Street, is 1.1 miles from the airport. A sample 7-day booking came to $44.63 (about $6.40/day), paid in full online, with a 100% refund if you cancel up to the day of arrival. The hotel shuttle leaves for the airport every hour on the half hour from 4 AM to midnight, and on your return you call (210) 804-0100 for a pick-up. There is no shuttle from midnight to 4 AM, bookings need at least 2 days, and the lot has no ADA-accessible spaces.

Triply prices are for a sample 7-day booking (check-in 10 AM on 13 November, check-out 2 PM on 19 November 2026), include taxes and fees, and change by date.

For the same stay (6 days 4 hours, entering after 1 November), Economy Green would be about $72.99: 7 billed days at $10, since each started 24 hours counts as a day, plus one $2.99 transaction fee. So the off-site lot was about $28 less. Economy's shuttle runs far more often, though, and enrolled Texas DV plate holders park there free. Our off-site parking near San Antonio airport guide compares the two in detail, or you can compare SAT parking on Triply.

SAT Parking Tips

  • Arrive early: the airport advises at least 2 hours before flights leaving before 7:30 AM and 1.5 hours for later flights. Checkpoints open at 3:30 AM.
  • Short visit: for 16 minutes to an hour, Economy is $3 and the Short-Term Garage is $5 from 1 November, plus the $0.99 fee.
  • Tall vehicle: both garages clear 7 feet; use Economy Green for anything taller.
  • Got an exit text you didn't trigger? Call the Parking Office at 210-207-3490.
