LaGuardia Airport is the closest of New York City's three major airports to Manhattan — just 8 miles east of Midtown in East Elmhurst, Queens. It serves 33.5 million passengers per year across 3 terminals, with Delta Air Lines dominating Terminal C with 220+ daily departures.
On-airport parking at LGA is among the most expensive in the country. The Terminal B garage charges up to $80/day ($55 pre-booked), Terminal C runs up to $89/day ($60 pre-booked), and even the Economy Lot 3 costs $39/day at drive-up rates.
Off-airport parking through Triply starts at around $11/day — saving up to 80% compared to on-airport garages. Most off-site lots include free shuttle service directly to your terminal. Unlike JFK, LaGuardia has no AirTrain, so there's no extra per-person transit cost to factor in — the comparison is purely parking rate vs. parking rate.
Carvia Parking — One of the best values at around $15/day, just 0.6 miles from LGA. 24/7 shuttle every 15 minutes to all terminals. Newer lot with 800+ spaces, fenced perimeter, CCTV, floodlights, and a customer lounge with phone charging and complimentary water. Note: SUV surcharges apply ($6–$10/day).
Parking Place — The cheapest close-proximity option at around $15/day, just 0.7 miles out. 24/7 shuttle every 15 minutes. Same amenities as Carvia — customer lounge, restrooms, phone charging. A newer operation with limited reviews but strong on-paper value.
Purchase Park 2 Fly — The most established LGA lot (since 2018) with 580+ Google reviews and a 4.3/5 rating. 24/7 on-demand shuttle, complimentary car wash included, just 0.6 miles from the airport. Higher rate around $29/day, but you're paying for a proven track record and extras. Does not accept full-size SUVs or oversized vehicles.
Queens Crossing & Hyatt Place Flushing (LAZ Parking) — Budget covered/indoor garage parking at $11–12/day in Flushing, 2.5–2.6 miles from LGA. The only covered parking options near LaGuardia. Shuttle hours are limited (roughly 6:30 AM–10:30 PM) with no overnight service, so these work best for morning departures and daytime returns.
Park N Depart — The cheapest option at around $11/day, but buyer beware: it has a BBB F rating, reports of hidden surcharges (4% credit card fee, 3.75% service charge), and no shuttle after 8 PM. Budget-friendly on paper but read reviews carefully.
LaGuardia completed an $8 billion redevelopment — delivered roughly 18 months ahead of schedule. The airport that was once called the worst in America is now one of the most modern:
• Terminal B ($4B) — Brand new 35-gate terminal with a spacious central hall, 105 self-service kiosks, and a pedestrian bridge to the parking garage. Home to American, United, JetBlue, Southwest, Frontier, and Air Canada.
• Terminal C ($4B) — Delta's flagship LGA terminal opened June 2022 with 37 gates across 4 concourses. Features the largest Delta Sky Club in the entire network (~600 seats).
• Terminal A (Marine Air Terminal) — The historic 1939 building remains active for Spirit Airlines. Passenger facility replacement is planned under the 2026–2035 capital plan while preserving the landmark rotunda.
• AirTrain LGA — Cancelled by Governor Hochul. Instead, $160 million was invested in enhancing the Q70 LaGuardia Link bus, which is now free and runs 24/7.
• EV Charging — A new 12-charger fast-charging hub (350 kW) opened February 2026, the largest in NYPA's EVolve NY network.
Note: The LaGuardia Marriott parking lot closed indefinitely on January 31, 2026 due to construction. If it still appears as bookable, it may be a data issue.
Here's what a 6-day trip actually costs for 2 travelers:
On-Airport Terminal C Garage (pre-booked): $360 parking = $360 total
On-Airport Terminal B Garage (pre-booked): $330 parking = $330 total
On-Airport Economy Lot 3: ~$234 parking + shuttle = ~$234 total
Off-site via Triply (Queens Crossing): ~$69 parking + free shuttle = ~$69 total (save ~$165 vs Economy Lot)
Off-site via Triply (Carvia Parking): ~$93 parking + free shuttle = ~$93 total (save ~$141 vs Economy Lot)
Public Transit (Subway + FREE Q70): $11.60 for 2 round trip — but 45–75 min each way
The Q70 LaGuardia Link bus is free, making public transit to LGA just $2.90 per person (subway fare only). That's far cheaper than JFK's $11.40+ per person (subway + AirTrain). But if you're driving, off-site parking through Triply saves $165–$265 compared to on-airport options.
• Book ahead — LGA parking rates are dynamic. Booking in advance through Triply locks in a lower rate vs. drive-up pricing.
• Check shuttle hours carefully — Most LGA off-site lots do NOT run overnight shuttles. If you have a red-eye or early morning flight before 5 AM, choose Purchase Park 2 Fly or Carvia (both 24/7). Avoid Queens Crossing or Hyatt Place for late/early flights.
• Know which terminal you need — Terminal A (Spirit), Terminal B (American, United, JetBlue, Southwest, Frontier), Terminal C (Delta only). Double-check before you go.
• Watch for surcharges — Several LGA lots charge extra for SUVs ($6–$10/day) and some add credit card surcharges (3–4%). Factor these into your total cost.
• Consider the Grand Central Parkway — Most off-site lots are just off the Grand Central Parkway. Traffic can be heavy during rush hour (7–9 AM, 4–7 PM). Allow extra time.
• Arrive 2 hours early — Standard recommendation for domestic flights at LGA. During holiday periods, allow 2.5 hours.
